With the support of the Horizon Europe project AeroSTREAM, the Bounding Box conference took place on May 12, 2023, at the Osijek Business Center in Osijek. The conference brought together diverse stakeholders, individuals, companies, and institutions interested in Deep Tech, including artificial intelligence, drones and space technologies. The conference aimed to promote and enhance understanding of these rapidly evolving technologies that have an impact on nearly every aspect of our lives. This year’s conference specifically focused on the application of artificial intelligence in industry and everyday life, making it an event visited by engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and anyone interested in the latest developments in AI.

The conference was organized by Protostar Labs with the help of the Innovation Center Nikola Tesla. It featured several keynote speakers who shared their thoughts on the more comprehensive application of artificial intelligence in everyday life. The speakers provided valuable insights into the latest developments in AI, making the conference a must-attend event for engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and anyone interested in AI. The End-User Workshop held within the Bounding Box conference was specifically dedicated to exploring the practical applications of artificial intelligence in various industries and everyday life. Esteemed speakers from our consortium partner institutions (FER, PRL, and FSB) shared their valuable insights on the wide-ranging applications of AI in industry. Their presentations showcased the latest advancements in AI, making the conference a highly recommended event especially for entrepreneurs, innovators, and anyone interested in AI. During the End-User Workshop at the Bounding Box conference, the AeroSTREAM project partners presented their research findings. Prof. Dr. Sc. Stjepan Bogdan (FER) delivered a presentation titled “Multi-agent Active Perception based on Reinforcement Learning,” while Assistant Professor Dr. Sc. Petar Piljek (FSB) shared insights on “Research and Development of Multirotors at FSB.” Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Sc. Dubravko Babić (FER) discussed “Space Technology at FER in Zagreb,” and Filip Novoselnik (PRL) presented “Moving Technology Between Earth and Space: A Two-Way Journey.”

In the panel discussion on “Deep Tech Commercialization – Challenges and Perspectives,” representatives from FER and PRL actively participated, sharing their expertise and experiences. Additionally, during the Bounding Box conference, the AeroSTREAM project showcased its research with a dedicated exhibition stand, featuring drones and screen presentations highlighting the work conducted by LARICS (FER).
